I am Chango aka Hector R. Uriarte Jr., is a singer songwriter & Chicano performance artist with roots in Northside of Visalia California.  Along with his Chicano Rock band called Pa'Chango, I play all original songs with the sweet aroma of fresh rolas that rings in the air; harking back to the nostalgic reminiscent sound of Santana, War, Malo, and of course El Chicano with a contemporary music voice.

I began songwriting as a Changito at the age of 15 years. First in a Latin rock Christian band and later as a composer for Christian artists. Eventually I transitioned to writing Chicano music.  Through his music, his writing, and my artwork I wants to express my cultural identity as a Chicano and keep his heritage alive!

I am now embarking on acquiring my Masters in Chicana/Chicano Ethnics Studies and continuing to use art to promote the Chicano culture.  "I want to join my artistic work with my cultural and social activism to empower and educate others.
